Chinese-German violinist Leonard Fu has appeared with the Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. His chamber partners have included Mitsuko Uchida, Laurence Lesser, Kim Kashkashian, and Manuel Fischer-Dieskau. A laureate of the Joachim, Postacchini, and Schadt international string competitions, he will become a member of the Juilliard String Quartet (second violin) and join the faculty of the Juilliard school in the fall of 2026.
A native of Boone, North Carolina, Baron Fenwick was awarded the Silver Medal in the Sendai International Piano Competition in Japan and has appeared with orchestras throughout the United States and around the world. His extensive repertoire includes more than 60 world premieres, including four world premiere piano concertos. He holds the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from the Juilliard School. He will begin a position as pianist and administrator for American Ballet Theater in the fall of 2026.

Chinese-German violinist Leonard Fu’s love for music began at an early age when his two older sisters were practicing the violin and the piano and he started imitating the melodies on the piano by ear. Since then, Fu has performed in several countries across continents, amongst them Germany, China, Russia, the United States, Italy, and Spain. He is an active soloist and chamber musician and has played concerts with major orchestras including Deutsche Kammerphilharmonie Bremen, NDR Radio Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Frankfurt Radio Symphony Orchestra. His chamber partners have included Mitsuko Uchida, Laurence Lesser, Kim Kashkashian, and Manuel Fischer-Dieskau.
In his young career Leonard has already been laureate of major competitions, such as the Joseph Joachim, Andrea Postacchini, Rodolfo Lipizer, TONALi, Ton & Erklärung, and most recently the Schadt International String Competition, at which he received the First Prize.
Fu has special interest in the performance of old music and dedicates time to the study of Historical Performance Practice, working with the Handel & Haydn Society and the Academy of Ancient Music Berlin. As an advocate for contemporary music he closely collaborates with the upcoming generation of composers.
Leonard completed his bachelor’s and master’s degrees at New England Conservatory. He has pursued further professional studies at Juilliard and at the Kronberg Academy, supported by the Gingko Foundation. He will join the Juilliard String Quartet as second violin and the Juilliard faculty in the fall.
Baron Fenwick, pianist, received his Doctorate of Musical Arts from The Juilliard School and previously graduated from Mannes College of Music with his Master’s and Bachelor’s degrees.
