Jardena Gertler-Jaffe and Bethany Pietroniro

Jardena Gertler-Jaffe, soprano and Bethany Pietroniro, piano explore the concepts of the spiritual, sacred, and secular through repertoire by Jewish composers and poets. Their performance will include works by Korngold and Ravel, and will include Yiddish folksongs arranged by Dan Shore, of which Jardena Gertler-Jaffe made the world premiere. Jardena Gertler-Jaffe has been praised for her genuine and intelligent performance, as well as her creativity on and off the stage. She is a Britten-Pears Young Artist, and has been awarded fellowships/apprenticeships from the Association of Opera in Canada, Sarasota Opera, and Bard Summerscape. Bethany Pietroniro has appeared in concert at Alice Tully Hall, and the Morgan Library. Recent collaborative projects include the premiere of composer Julio Friedmann’s Fried Cycle, presented in a virtual recital with mezzo-soprano Hailey McAvoy.
