Co-Bill Concert: Mara Levine with Gathering Time

  • Downtown Music at Grace 33 Church Street White Plains, NY, 10601 United States (map)

Mara Levine has been called "one of the best singers of her generation" by Christine Lavin, and "Golden Voiced" by David Amram.  The international touring artist creates beautiful interpretations of fine traditional and contemporary songs.  Her critically acclaimed albums Facets of Folk and Jewels and Harmony reached #1 on the FAI Folk Chart upon release.  She's appeared on radio programs and venues in the US, Canada and Europe and she recently joined Bell Buckle Records. Mara often co-bills and records with Gathering Time, who will be supporting her with lush harmonies.

Gathering Time is an internationally touring folk-rock harmony/Americana trio in the spirit of the ‘60s and beyond, playing original, traditional, and classic 20th-century folk. Like a co-ed Crosby, Stills & Nash, GT is known for astute songwriting, spirited and accomplished musicianship – and a stellar vocal blend. Stuart Markus, Hillary Foxsong and Gerry McKeveny’s stage chemistry makes clear that they take the music (if not themselves) very seriously, yet their infectious energy wins over even fans who never considered themselves folkies.  Their albums Keepsake and Old Friends each reached #1 on the FAI Folk chart.

Bob Sherman hosts this “Woody’s Children at Grace” event.

A Downtown Music debut.

This concert is made possible, in part, with the generous support of Dagher Engineering, PLLC
